Visual Essay

I really enjoyed watching everyones perceptions on public art. We had everything from trashcans and fences to the beauty of Georgia Tech. It was interesting also to see how people put their pictures together with different transitions, borders, and sound effects.
Making this visual essay was difficult for me; however, I did enjoy playing with the effects on my pictures. It took me a while to think of how to present my pictures. But after I realized that I could change the effects of the photos, making the essay wasnt too bad!

Picnik

As I have been working on my presentation, I have enjoyed playing around with the different features on picnik. It is fun to be able to change the colors, contrast, and everything else. It is a way to change art in a new way. I like to be able to have a boring photograph and spice it up with all the features.

PUBLIC ART

I am going to Chicago for Fall Break, and I will be visiting the Bean!!
Im planning on taking pictures of people interacting with the bean. I have been to Chicago several times before, and seen the different ways people use the bean. Once, there was a wedding party taking pictures. It was very beautiful. I love watching how different people look at the mirrored bean. Different angles of the bean give you different outlooks of yourself and the skyline of Chicago!

I cannot wait to visit Chicago and the bean soon!

Mirzoeff

Reading through this article, I never thought of how visual culture can affect things. The article mentions NATO and 9/11 and how people now portray these events because of how the media influenced us. Also, when speaking about the movie Saving Private Ryan, the director could have taken any perspective on how he wanted it to be shown.
Visual culture seems to be pretty interesting and I can't wait to hear other peers interests and comments in class tomorrow about it!
